ABOUT us
At Silo & Co, everything is thoughtfully made, handcrafted with care, and made to be used.
Our ceramics are colourful, playful and designed to bring a little more joy to the everyday. While ceramics can sometimes feel precious or overly serious, that’s not what we’re about. We believe things can be well made and practical, but also beautiful, playful and a little bit fun.
Each piece is made by hand with careful consideration, it’s here to be lived with - to hold your morning coffee, brighten your table, and bring a little happiness to the everyday.
Most of our range is handmade by creator and proprietor Tina, with her daughters chipping in occasionally with a new object or design. With husband running logistics, mum on sales, and puppy Jasper on quality control, when you buy from Silo & Co. you can be sure you are supporting a locally run family business.
The Clay
All of our pieces are made from high-fire stoneware or porcelain clay made by Australian manufacturers, fired to vitrification, and finished with food-safe glazes.
The GlazeS
We take pride in using a range of food safe glazes in our work - including both those we formulate ourselves and high-quality commercially available options. Often, these glazes are combined or layered to achieve the distinctive finishes that characterize our pieces.
The DESIGNS
If you appreciate Silo & Co. designs and our creative style, we're happy to consider commissions that align with our aesthetic, using materials and glazes already in our repertoire. We kindly ask that you don’t request copies of others’ work or provide designs for us to create on your behalf - we don't enjoy working this way and prefer to use our own creative expression in our work. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like a bespoke piece designed for you, and we will let you know what is possible along with the associated costs.
